CHRISTIAN LIVING - LESSON 6
The Most Important Things In Life
You will need your Bible and a pen & notebook to complete these lessons. You should be able to copy and paste these outlines to your word processor and print them without difficulty if you so desire. We recommend you record in your note book deep thoughts or questions that may arise as you study, and certainly record all things God reveals to your heart. Look over these notes frequently and use them even as you pray. God will cause you to grow in wisdom and understanding. Keep your note book with you throughout the day as much as possible to record all God reveals to you and to review the things you have learned. Look up all bible verses in this study. Highlight or mark them in your bible. It is Gods Word speaking directly to you.
We also recommend you make a habit of memorizing a scripture each week. This not only helps get the Word deep in your heart, but is also an excellent mental exercise.
THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS IN LIFE
For most of us the things that are important aren’t always those things which garner our utmost in care and attention. Many sacrifice their family relationships for the sake of career. Some don’t weigh the cost a wrong relationship or affair can have on their loved ones or their home. Still others leave their first love of church and Christ, gradually slipping into the mold the world has shaped for them, becoming less and less a person of faith.
All of us have witnessed or been partakers of these peace robbing, life stealing circumstances, but as a man of God we can protect ourselves against them. Don’t be discouraged, for just as this life is filled with opportunities to stumble, it is also filled with opportunities to learn and to overcome. These same traps, set by hell to rob us of the blessing, can be the very thing we use as ammunition against the darkness.
We were created to be champions, world overcomer's, and live our lives’ in a Christ like fashion. Just as Jesus used satan’s temptations as opportunity to stand correctly on the Word of God, and resist the devil, so can we. Each time we have success it is one more testimony, one more victory, with which we can encourage and strengthen ourselves and others. Before David overcame Goliath, he battled and defeated the lion and the bear, and it shall be similar for us.
These victories are strengths to us. Record them, journal them and remember them. What God did for and through you or a friend yesterday, He will do again for you today, and even greater, as your faith and knowledge in Him grows.
Keep Your Eye On Jesus, And He’ll Keep His Eye on You
1. Focus on your first love.
1John 5:1-2
Here we find keeping our eyes on Jesus, keeps us walking in His commands, loving
heavenly Father and loving each other.
2. Focus on your spouse.
Ephesians 5:25
3. Focus on your children.
Malachi 4:6
A guaranteed Word way to remove the potential curse.
4. Focus on your mission.
Mark 16:15-18
Conclusion: Where we focus our love, we focus our time and attention. When it is put in the right place our lives have meaning and purpose. There isn’t a lack of direction but rather an energizing, God empowered and directed hub of activity, building a circle of love that will exist in God’s kingdom for eternity. We build in love, and what is built in love, cannot be corrupted by time, evil or the grave. Love is of God. As a boy have you ever used a magnifying glass to concentrate sunlight to start a small fire? When we focus our love in it’s proper place, we magnify the light of God, and all hell is burned away.
