EVANGELISM - LESSON FOUR
Driving Out the Forces of Hell!
You will need your Bible and a pen & notebook to complete these lessons. You should be able to copy and paste these outlines to your word processor and print them without difficulty if you so desire. We recommend you record in your note book deep thoughts or questions that may arise as you study, and certainly record all things God reveals to your heart. Look over these notes frequently and use them even as you pray. God will cause you to grow in wisdom and understanding. Keep your note book with you throughout the day as much as possible to record all God reveals to you and to review the things you have learned. Look up all bible versus in each study and highlight them or mark your favorites in your Bible. It is God's Word to you.
We also recommend you make a habit of memorizing a scripture each week. This not only helps get the Word deep in your heart, but is also an excellent mental exercise.
Driving Out The Forces Of Hell!
In our lives we can expect situations to arise which we would prefer to see changed. Even fairy tales have a villain, trying to make the life of the hero or heroine miserable. Often we also will see trials that effect others and our heart feels for them. What is the solution to these negative circumstances? Can we do anything to actually make a difference? If so, what is our first step?
Today we will look at the remedy. Even more than this, we will discover our place in Gods grand plan and our duty as believers.
Step 1: Discard all the distractions and the trash.
Hebrews 12:2-3 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of
witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us,
and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus,
the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured
the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
- Notice here the word of God includes YOU in the family of faith described in chapter
eleven! Don’t ever let the devil tell you your faith isn’t enough!
Step 2. Fully trust in God
Jeremiah 17:7-8 "Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is in the Lord.
For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out it roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes; But it's leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the
year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit."
- Freedom from the fear which can accompany negative situations comes through our
putting our full trust in God.
Step 3. Realize who you are in Christ!
2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we
might become the righteousness of God in Him.
- You are anointed and equipped of God to overcome the enemy always!
Step 4. Run with purpose!
2 Corinthians 5:18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself
through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
- We have right standing with God because of the prescious blood of Jesus Christ. Now we
can 'come boldly to the throne of grace to find help in time of need'! (Hebrews 4:14-16)
- All of us are called to point people to Christ. No matter what your vocation or
giftings.
Step 5. Pray fervently!
James 5:16b …the prayers of a righteous man avails much.
Conclusion: There is a body of believers in the earth today, filled with the Spirit of God, empowered by Jesus Christ, with heavens authority behind them, whose purpose is to light the way to Jesus for as many people as a lifetime will allow. Whether we will fulfill that purpose is up to us to decide. God has already made all we need available. Will you answer that call? Will every sunrise find you a bright light, a fountain of living water? Today let’s determine to go all in for Jesus. No more part time believer, but a true disciple of Jesus. All for God, holding nothing back!
