KINGDOM MEN - 1
Son's Of The Kingdom
You may want your Bible and a pen & notebook to complete these lessons. You should be able to copy and paste these outlines to your word processor and print them without difficulty if you so desire. We recommend you record in your note book deep thoughts or questions that may arise as you study, and certainly record all things God reveals to your heart. Look over these notes frequently and use them even as you pray. God will cause you to grow in wisdom and understanding. Keep your note book with you throughout the day as much as possible to record all God reveals to you and to review the things you have learned. Look up all bible verses in this study. Highlight or mark them in your bible. It is Gods Word speaking directly to you.
We also recommend you make a habit of memorizing a scripture each week. This not only helps get the Word deep in your heart, but is also an excellent mental exercise.
FOUR INGREDIENTS OF A KINGDOM MAN
Intro: Colossians 1:12 & 13 (also see Amplified Bible translation)
Giving thanks unto the Father; which hath (already has) made us meet (able) to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and translated (transfered) us into the kingdom of His dear Son.
Did you catch that?
He has already made us able to take part in the inheritance of the saints!
*past tense - it is already so because He has already done this. According to scripture you are as ready as you'll ever be to inherit the promises of God, and you are already part of the family, part of the kingdom of God. You have been since the first day you believed.
WE HAVE TO DECIDE WHETHER OR NOT WE ARE GOING TO BELIEVE HIS WORD. IF HE SAYS IT IN HIS WORD, THAT NEEDS TO SETTLE IT IN OUR HEARTS! NO MATTER HOW WE FEEL ABOUT IT, WE MUST AGREE WITH GODS WORD. CHANGING OUR MIND TO ONE OF AGREEMENT WITH HIS WORD IS A CHOICE WE MUST MAKE CONTINUALLY AS WE DISCOVER TRUTHS NEW TO US.
Since we are part of the kingdom, then it is high time we live like it!
Studying the characteristics that pertain to being a godly man can lead us to be more successful in life, marriage and parenthood.
As a child, no boy want's to dissapoint his dad, but wants to make him proud. How much more important do you suppose it should be to please our heavenly Father?
THE FOUR INGREDIENTS OF A KINGDOM MAN
1. A KINGDOM MAN MULTIES HIMSELF (bears much fruit)
John 15:7-8 Amplified
If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and
it shall be done for you.
When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of
Mine.
*Bearing fruit applies first in your home and then expanding from there. This is why our descisions as men of God are so important.
- Notice - vs. 8 Our bearing fruit glorifies our heavenly Father. This is what proves we are His disciple. NO FRUIT, NO PROOF (ouch)
What kind of fruit? FRUIT FOR THE KINGDOM!
- Notice - vs. 7 Abiding "in" is tied to the "Word" in us. No Word in, no abiding in!
We CAN NOT take our Christian walk lightly and expect all His promises.
What we can count on is when we do our part God does His part!
We don't earn our salvation, but we can't even be saved without doing our part, which is receiving the gift of salvation by believing and inviting Jesus to be Lord of our life. (Even faith comes by God's grace, not because we earn it, it is a gift from God). God has made it very easy for us.
~ Multiply ourselves by:
a) Not tied to self interests but God's kingdom
Romans 6:20-22
(we are slaves to rightousness)
* God's kingdom and His people are always our concern.
-helping the hurting
-guiding the novice
-reaching the lost
The things that matter to God should matter to us. This will grow in us as we spend time with the father in prayer and time in His Word.
Remember John 15:8 "you show and prove yourself"
2. KINGDOM MEN WALK IN LOVE
John 15:12
As He loved us! Do we measure up?
PERHAPS IT IS TIME TO MAN UP AND STEP OUT OF OUR ROUTINE OR COMFORT ZONE AND GO FOR GOD'S BEST!
a) According to scripture Jesus friends keep doing His commands, they don't quit.
b) To walk in love is to walk in forgiveness. (if you don't sow it, you won't reap it)
c) Love isn't critical of others, especially of church leadership places over us by God.
Galatians 6:7-10
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh
reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
d) Check your heart - selfish ambition? Greed? Covetousness? Envy? Strife? Attitude? Pride?
* Jesus is expecting His disciples to love each other as He has loved us.
