WALKING IN LOVE - GODS PRESENCE IN ACTION
You will need your Bible and a pen & notebook to complete these lessons. You should be able to copy and paste these outlines to your word processor and print them without difficulty if you so desire. We recommend you record in your note book deep thoughts or questions that may arise as you study, and certainly record all things God reveals to your heart. Look over these notes frequently and use them even as you pray. God will cause you to grow in wisdom and understanding. Keep your note book with you throughout the day as much as possible to record all God reveals to you and to review the things you have learned.
We also recommend you make a habit of memorizing a scripture each week. This not only helps get the Word deep in your heart, but is also an excellent mental exercise.
WALKING IN LOVE - GODS PRESENCE IN ACTION
Foundation Text: 1Corinthians 13
1. Love Is Active
~ Faith works by Love
~ Faith without works (in context; love) is dead
2. Love gives of Itself
~ John 3:16
3. Love is not self centered
~ It seeks not it’s own verse 5
4. Love is NOT optional
~ verses 1 through 3
HOW DO WE GROW OUR LOVE
God’s love is evident throughout scripture. We have a model of love in His patience, kindness and His diligent effort to guide and bless His children. Holy Spirit will help us, but we have to cooperate with Him. Here are a few things we can do to help.
1. Imitate those good things we learn of in scripture.
~ Be imitators of God, as dear children
2. Guard our heart by feeding our intellect with godly things instead of carnal (we are what we eat, as they say).
3. Stay connected to loves source
~ I am the Vine, you are the branches
4. Devout yourself to duplicating your life in Christ in others
~ Matthew 28:19
Conclusion: These are a few things to help us walk in love always. Love is the very essence and nature of God. This life is not about pursuing our pleasures, but rather pursuing God, knowing that He will take great care of us if we will just let Him. To walk in His blessing continually, we need to be letting His love flow through us to bless others.
