                          The Five Acts of Love A Leader Must Not Lack  

   You will need your Bible and a pen & notebook to complete these lessons. You should be able to copy and paste these outlines to your word processor and print them without difficulty if you so desire. We recommend you record in your note book deep thoughts or questions that may arise as you study, and certainly record all things God reveals to your heart. Look over these notes frequently and use them even as you pray. God will cause you to grow in wisdom and understanding. Keep your note book with you throughout the day as much

as possible to record all God reveals to you and to review the things you have learned.

   We also recommend you make a habit of memorizing a scripture each week. This not only helps get the Word deep in your heart, but is also an excellent mental exercise.

                                      The Five Acts of Love God’s Leaders Mustn’t Lack

   As leaders, often we find satisfaction in being able to repair or build to solve a problem. That problem solving leadership ability is a trait designed in man by God. As much as it is of benefit to us, when it comes to the problem of our own salvation, trying to repair the issue ourselves can land us in trouble. Throughout the scriptures we see many examples of people trying to find salvation through the law. It doesn’t work. If it did we wouldn’t have needed Jesus to go to the cross and pay sins penalty for us. Oh’ how we need Jesus!

   The problem solving “find a way” part of us lends greatly to the leadership calling on each of us as men, but can often bring personal disappointment if we connect our relationship with the Lord with our ability to obey.

   God loves each of us, every day, no matter what. The Word says “His mercy is new, every morning”. In 1John 2:1 we see the key to the sin issue has been provided to us. When we miss the mark, we run to God, not from Him. When we do, we are just as qualified to take our place as a man of God as if sin never happened. This is ample

​reason for us each to be quick to overlook the transgressions of a brother or sister in the faith. We aren’t called to judge, but to love.

   The power of God comes through love. God is love. There is nothing of any good without love. Love and one accord brought about the first move of Holy Spirit and Love will bring about the awaited revival we seek. Today we will look at love in regard to leadership.

1. Forgive Ourselves. John 3:16-18 & Romans 3:21-26

Who are we to hang on to the memory or self-condemnation for those things which

Christ has payed for?

2. Forgive others, always. Mathew 18:21-22

This doesn’t mean we aren’t to act responsibly as leaders concerning discipline and

dealing with issues as the Word directs, but always doing so in love.

3. Humble Ourselves. 1Peter 5:5-7 & James 4:10

God rewards those who humble themselves. God resists the proud.

Willing to continue in Gods work, unchanged and unabated by disappointment or

circumstance is an attribute of a Godly man.

5. Love Worships God. John 4:24

*truth (Aletheia) : the opposite of fictitious, feigned or false. It denotes veracity,

Reality, sincerity, accuracy, integrity, truthfulness, dependability, and propriety.

6. Love Takes Action. Matthew 5:16

According to scripture love must be visible in our actions in order to bring God glory.

Our light shines through our activity, not just our words.

Conclusion: Our faith works through love. Without the love of God operating in each of us we have no reason to expect a revival. God’s will is to see millions swept into His kingdom, and each of us can have a part in this. Our part begins and ends with love. Love is the key to all the power and completion of the gospel. When Christ returns, the Word says we’ll know Him because we’ll be like Him. Jesus is the love of God manifest. Let

love be our motivation, always, in all things, and we will see God move.
